Fees and insurance
What therapy costs, and the ways people pay.
Free consultation
A free, no-pressure 15-minute call by phone or video, to talk over your goals and needs.
Payment
Self-pay is $165 per session.
I periodically have some sliding-scale options available. Reach out if you’d like to explore this option.
HSA and FSA cards are welcome.
Superbills are available, if you’d like to ask your insurance to reimburse part of the cost.
Insurance
I’m in network with Blue Cross Blue Shield (including Anthem) and Cigna, through Headway. Other plans may be possible. Coverage depends on your plan: check your plan on my Headway page.
Out-of-network benefits
Many plans pay back part of the cost of out-of-network therapy, using a superbill. Check your out-of-network benefits with Thrizer for an estimate. It’s an estimate, not a guarantee; your insurer decides.
How often we meet
It’s usually best to meet weekly or every other week at the beginning. Ultimately the frequency of sessions is your choice; we’ll figure out what works best for you.
Please keep first emails short. There’s no need to include health details or insurance numbers; if we work together, we’ll use a private way to share those.
Your right to a Good Faith Estimate
You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost.
Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance, or who are not using insurance, an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.
- You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment and hospital fees.
- Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.
- If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.
- Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.
For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call 1-800-985-3059.
