Brainspotting is a therapy approach that works with the lower subcortical parts of our brain. Instead of trying to fix out thoughts, brainspotting helps us heal on a deeper level. This type of therapy is not another "talk therapy," the focus is more experiential. The therapist and client do the work together in session, there is no education, directives, or homework.
Brainspotting is a flexible approach, and this means it can easily be adapted to your way of being in the world. Most brainspotting sessions will include the practice of mindfulness, self-reflection on physical and emotional states, "emotional surfing," and connecting with purpose and meaning.
